Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow may cause injury or damage.

  1. Use only with 12V lead-acid batteries. Do not use with gel-cell or lithium batteries.
  2. Work in well-ventilated area. Batteries produce explosive gases.
  3. Wear safety glasses and gloves when handling batteries.
  4. Connect charger to battery before plugging into AC outlet.
  5. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.

WARNING! Risk of explosion. Do not smoke or create sparks near battery. Connect red clamp to positive (+) terminal first.

Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

  1. Select charging location: Dry, level surface away from battery.
  2. Prepare battery: Clean terminals if corroded. Remove caps from vented batteries.
  3. Connect clamps: RED to positive (+) terminal, BLACK to negative (-) terminal or vehicle frame.
  4. Select charge rate: Choose 2A, 10A, or Engine Start based on battery needs.
  5. Plug into outlet: Use grounded 120V AC, 60Hz outlet only.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps to each other. Ensure proper polarity to avoid damage.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: Digital display, Charge rate selector (2A/10A/START), Power button, LED indicators.

Display Readings: Battery voltage, Charging current, Error codes. LED Indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (flashing green), FULL (solid green), FAULT (red). Charge Rate Selector: 2A (trickle/maintenance), 10A (standard charging), START (55-amp engine crank).

Automatic Features: Detects battery condition, switches to float mode when fully charged, thermal shutdown if overheated.

Charging Procedures

Follow these steps for safe and effective battery charging.

  1. Turn charger power switch OFF before connecting.
  2. Connect clamps: Red to positive (+), Black to negative (-) or ground.
  3. Select charge rate: 2A for maintenance, 10A for standard charging.
  4. Turn power ON: Display will show battery voltage and charging current.
  5. Monitor charging: LED will flash green during charge, turn solid when complete.
  6. Disconnect: Turn power OFF, unplug from outlet, remove BLACK clamp first.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, use 10A setting. Charging time varies by battery capacity.

Engine Start Function

Use 55-amp engine start only for vehicles with completely dead batteries.

  1. Connect clamps properly (red to positive, black to ground).
  2. Set selector to START position.
  3. Turn charger power ON.
  4. Wait 2-3 minutes for battery to receive initial charge.
  5. Attempt to start vehicle while charger is connected and powered.
  6. If engine starts, immediately turn charger OFF and disconnect clamps.
  7. If engine doesn't start within 5 seconds, wait 3 minutes before retrying.

WARNING! Do not use engine start function for more than 5 seconds continuously. Allow charger to cool between attempts.

Maintenance & Storage

Proper maintenance ensures long charger life and safe operation.

  1. Clean clamps after each use with baking soda solution to remove corrosion.
  2. Inspect cables regularly for cracks or exposed wires.
  3. Store in dry location away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
