Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, well-ventilated surface.

  1. Position unit: Ensure at least 6 inches clearance on all sides for proper ventilation.
  2. Connect AC power: Plug power cord into grounded 120V AC outlet.
  3. Prepare output cables: Use appropriate gauge wires for your current requirements.
  4. Connect to device: Attach positive (red) and negative (black) cables to output terminals.

WARNING! This unit contains high-current components. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow initial calibration procedure.

  1. Power connection: Plug into AC outlet; power LED should illuminate.
  2. Initial display: Digital display should show 0.0V and 0.0A.
  3. Voltage adjustment: Turn voltage knob fully counterclockwise to minimum.
  4. Connect test load: Attach a known good device or resistor for testing.
  5. Adjust voltage: Slowly increase voltage to desired level while monitoring display.

CAUTION! Always start with voltage at minimum when connecting new devices.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Front Panel: POWER switch, VOLTAGE ADJUST knob, OUTPUT terminals, Digital display.

Display: Shows output voltage (left) and current (right) simultaneously.

Voltage Adjustment: Turn knob clockwise to increase voltage, counterclockwise to decrease. Current Limiting: Automatic based on load; unit will reduce voltage if current exceeds safe limits. Thermal Protection: Automatic fan control; unit will shut down if temperature exceeds safe limits.

Connecting Devices

Output Terminals: Red (positive), Black (negative).

  1. Turn power supply OFF before making connections.
  2. Set voltage to minimum (fully counterclockwise).
  3. Connect positive lead to red terminal, negative to black terminal.
  4. Ensure connections are tight and secure.
  5. Turn power ON and slowly adjust voltage to required level.

Tip: Use appropriate wire gauge: 10 AWG for currents above 30A, 12 AWG for 20-30A, 14 AWG for below 20A.

Operation Modes

Supports constant voltage and constant current operation.

  1. Constant Voltage: Default mode; maintains set voltage regardless of load changes.
  2. Constant Current: Automatically engages when current reaches maximum safe level.
  3. Display Monitoring: Continuously monitor both voltage and current readings.
  4. Load Testing: Can be used for testing automotive batteries, electronics, motors.
  5. Charging Mode: For charging 12V batteries; set to 13.8V for maintenance charging.

WARNING! Do not exceed 55A continuous current. Allow cooling between high-current operations.

Safety Features

Overload Protection: Automatically limits current to prevent damage. Short-Circuit Protection: Immediate shutdown on short circuit. Thermal Protection: Fan-controlled cooling; shutdown if overheated. Reverse Polarity Protection: Protected against accidental reverse connections.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Keep ventilation openings clear. Use compressed air to remove dust from fan and heatsinks.

CAUTION! Do not block ventilation openings. Keep away from moisture and flammable materials.
