Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. Multimeter is for indoor use only.

  1. Do not exceed maximum input limits shown on meter and in manual.
  2. Use proper personal protective equipment when working with electricity.
  3. Inspect test leads for damage before each use.
  4. Do not use meter if damaged or if it operates abnormally.
  5. Remove test leads from circuit before changing function or range.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not measure voltages above 600V AC/DC. Use extreme caution when working with high voltage.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect contents. Install battery before first use.

  1. Install battery: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery, replace cover.
  2. Connect test leads: Black lead to COM jack, red lead to VΩmA jack (for most measurements).
  3. Turn meter on: Rotate function selector to desired measurement function.
  4. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together; buzzer should sound.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is set to correct function before connecting to circuit. Incorrect settings may damage meter or cause injury.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Function Selector Dial: Rotate to choose measurement function and range.

Front Panel: LCD Display, Function Selector, Data Hold Button, Power Switch.

Input Jacks: COM (common/ground), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/mA current), 10A (high current up to 10A).

Display Symbols: AC/DC indicators, Low Battery, Data Hold, Overload (OL), Units (V, A, Ω, etc.).

Measurement Procedures

Always start with highest range if unknown value. Use proper jack for measurement type.

  1. DC Voltage: Set to V⎓, connect leads in parallel with circuit, observe polarity.
  2. AC Voltage: Set to V~, connect leads in parallel with circuit.
  3. DC Current: Set to A⎓, connect in series with circuit, use 10A jack for >200mA.
  4. Resistance: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  5. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol, connect red lead to anode, black to cathode.
  6. Continuity: Set to buzzer symbol, circuit should be de-energized.
  7. Capacitance: Set to F, discharge capacitor first, connect across capacitor leads.

Tip: Use Data Hold button to freeze reading for difficult-to-view locations.

Battery Replacement

Replace 9V battery when low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove old battery and dispose properly.
  4. Insert new 9V battery, observing polarity.
  5. Replace cover securely.

WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries. Remove battery if meter will not be used for extended period.

Maintenance & Care

Clean meter with dry cloth only. Store in protective case when not in use.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or abrasives. Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
