Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This is a CAT II 600V rated meter.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V DC or 600V AC RMS.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  5. Replace battery and fuse with identical type and rating.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on electrically live circuits unless trained. Ensure all connections are secure.

Getting Started

Insert battery and connect test leads.

  1. Battery Installation: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery.
  2. Test Lead Connection: Black lead to COM jack, red lead to VΩmA jack (for most measurements).
  3. Power On: Turn function dial away from OFF position.
  4. Function Selection: Rotate dial to desired measurement function.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is turned off when not in use. Store in dry place.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Function Dial: Selects measurement mode (OFF, VDC, VAC, Ω, DCA, hFE, diode, continuity). Display Symbols: "OL" (overload), battery low, hold, AC/DC indicators.

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A). Buttons: HOLD (data hold), SELECT (function toggle).

Measurement: Auto-ranging on most functions. Manual range selection available on some models. Display updates approximately 2-3 times per second.

Measurement Procedures

Always start with highest range if unknown. Ensure correct jack and function selection.

  1. DC Voltage: Set to VDC, connect leads in parallel, observe polarity.
  2. AC Voltage: Set to VAC, connect leads in parallel.
  3. Resistance: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  4. DC Current: Set to DCA, connect in series, use 10A jack for >200mA.

Tip: For current measurement, always break the circuit and connect meter in series. Use 10A jack for high current.

Diode and Continuity Testing

Diode Test: Set to diode symbol. Connect red lead to anode, black to cathode. Forward voltage drop 0.5V-0.8V (silicon) indicates good diode.

  1. Continuity: Set to buzzer symbol. Connect leads across circuit.
  2. Buzzer sounds: Resistance <70Ω (circuit continuous).
  3. No sound: Open circuit (resistance >70Ω).

WARNING! Ensure circuit is de-energized before continuity or resistance testing to prevent meter damage.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery symbol appears.

  1. Turn meter OFF and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace with new 9V battery (alkaline recommended).
  4. Replace cover securely.

Fuse Replacement: For current measurement functions. Use only 200mA/250V fast-blow fuse for mA range and 10A/250V fuse for 10A range.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry cloth only. Do not use solvents or water.

Storage: Remove battery if not used for extended period. Store in protective case.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or dust. Keep away from strong magnetic fields.
