Safety Information

Read all safety information before use to prevent injury or damage.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage exceeding 600V DC or AC RMS.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Do not use in wet or damp environments.
  5. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing functions.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not touch exposed circuitry. Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS or 42V DC.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect contents. Install battery if not pre-installed.

  1. Insert 9V battery: Open battery compartment, connect battery, replace cover.
  2. Connect test leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA jack.
  3. Turn on meter: Rotate function selector to desired measurement function.
  4. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together; buzzer should sound.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when connecting to circuits. Start with highest range if unknown value.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Function Selector: Rotate to choose measurement function. Display: Shows measured value, function symbols, and warnings.

Display Symbols: AC/DC, Auto, Hold, Low Battery, Overload (OL).

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/mA), 10A (high current). Buttons: HOLD (data hold), SELECT (function toggle), RANGE (manual range).

Measurement Procedures

Always turn off power to circuit before connecting meter for resistance or continuity tests.

  1. DC Voltage: Select V⎓, connect leads in parallel, read display.
  2. AC Voltage: Select V~, connect leads in parallel, read display.
  3. DC Current: Select A⎓, connect leads in series, read display (use 10A jack for >200mA).
  4. Resistance: Select Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  5. Diode Test: Select diode symbol, connect red to anode, black to cathode.
  6. Continuity: Select buzzer symbol, touch probes to circuit ends.

Tip: Use HOLD button to freeze reading in hard-to-see areas.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace old 9V battery with new one, observing polarity.
  4. Replace cover and secure screw.

WARNING! Do not operate meter with low battery as readings may be inaccurate.

Care & Maintenance

Clean meter with dry cloth only. Store in carrying case when not in use.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or water. Keep away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
