The Cen-Tech 95683 is a versatile digital clamp meter designed for measuring AC/DC voltage, AC current, resistance, continuity, and diode testing. It features a large LCD display, data hold function, auto-ranging, overload protection, and a jaw capacity of up to 30mm. Ideal for electricians, technicians, and DIY enthusiasts. Below are key sections for safety, features, operation, specifications, and troubleshooting.
Key components: Clamp jaw, LCD display, Function selector dial, Test lead inputs, Data Hold button, Power button.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Clamp Jaw | Measures AC current without breaking the circuit (up to 400A) |
| LCD Display | 3½ digit, 2000 count display with backlight |
| Function Dial | Selects measurement modes (V~, V=, A~, Ω, Continuity, Diode) |
| Test Lead Inputs | COM and VΩmA jacks for voltage, resistance, and continuity tests |
| Data Hold | Freezes reading on display |
| Auto Power Off | Conserves battery after 15 minutes of inactivity |
| Overload Protection | Protects meter from excessive voltage/current |
| Low Battery Indicator | Shows when battery needs replacement |
| Continuity Buzzer | Audible tone for continuity detection |
| Diode Test | Tests semiconductor junctions |
Read all instructions before use. Use only as specified.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on circuits exceeding 600V AC/DC. Ensure proper insulation.
Front Panel: Clamp jaw, LCD display, Function dial, HOLD button, POWER button. Input Jacks: COM (black), VΩmA (red).
CAUTION! Ensure function dial is set to OFF when not in use to preserve battery.
Turn function dial to desired measurement mode.
AC Current: Set dial to A~. Open clamp, place around single conductor, close clamp. Read value.
DC/AC Voltage: Set dial to V= or V~. Insert black lead into COM, red into VΩmA. Touch probes to circuit.
Resistance: Set dial to Ω. Ensure circuit is de-energized. Connect probes across component.
Continuity: Set dial to Ω (continuity symbol). Connect probes; buzzer sounds if resistance <30Ω.
Diode Test: Set dial to diode symbol. Connect red probe to anode, black to cathode. Forward voltage drop displayed.
LCD indicators: AC, DC, Hold, Auto, Low Battery, Overload.
Tip: Refer to symbols for quick mode identification.
Uses one 9V battery (type 6F22).
WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries. Dispose of old batteries properly.
Clean with dry cloth only. Store in dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures.
CAUTION! Do not use solvents or water. Keep away from magnetic fields.

| Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
|---|---|---|
| No display | Dead battery | Replace 9V battery. |
| Inaccurate reading | Wrong function selected | Set dial to correct measurement mode. |
| Display shows "OL" | Overload or open circuit | Reduce input or check circuit continuity. |
| Clamp not reading current | Conductor not centered | Center single conductor in jaw. |
| Continuity buzzer not sounding | High resistance or open circuit | Check for resistance >30Ω or broken connection. |
Reset: Turn meter off and on. Replace battery if issues persist.
