Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before use. This is a CAT II 600V rated meter.

1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
2. Do not measure voltage above 600V DC/AC.
3. When measuring current, ensure proper jack selection and do not exceed 10A.
4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
5. Replace fuse with identical type and rating.

First-Time Setup

Inspect meter and accessories. Install battery.

1. Install battery: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery.
2. Connect test leads: Black to COM, red to VΩmA for most measurements.
3. Power on: Turn rotary switch to any function except OFF.
4. Test continuity: Touch probe tips; buzzer should sound.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when not in use to preserve battery.

Controls and Settings

Access functions via rotary switch. Front Panel: LCD, Rotary switch, Data Hold button, Transistor socket, Input jacks.

Rotary Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DCV), V~ (ACV), A⎓ (DCA), A~ (ACA), Ω (resistance), ))) (continuity), diode symbol, hFE.

Display Symbols: "OL" (overload), "AC" or "DC", "Hold", low battery indicator. Auto-ranging on voltage and resistance. Manual range selection on some models (use RANGE button if present).

Measurement Procedures

Always start with meter off or at highest range.

1. Voltage (DC/AC): Set switch to V⎓ or V~. Connect leads in parallel to circuit.
2. Current (DC/AC): Set switch to A⎓ or A~. Connect leads in series with circuit. Use 10A jack for >200mA.
3. Resistance: Set to Ω. Ensure circuit is de-energized. Connect across component.
4. Continuity: Set to ))). Buzzer indicates short.
5. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol. Red lead to anode, black to cathode.
6. Transistor hFE: Set to hFE. Insert transistor in correct socket orientation.

Tip: Use Data Hold to freeze reading in hard-to-see areas.
