Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This meter is designed for indoor use.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V DC or AC RMS.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  5. Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on circuits exceeding 600V. Use caution when working with high voltage.

Parts Identification

Front panel layout and control functions.

  1. LCD Display: Shows measurement values, symbols, and warnings.
  2. Rotary Switch: Selects measurement function and range.
  3. Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A).
  4. Data Hold Button: Press to freeze display reading.
  5. Transistor Test Socket: For testing NPN and PNP transistors.
  6. Battery Compartment: Holds 9V battery (not included).

CAUTION! Ensure rotary switch is set to correct function before connecting to circuit.

Specifications

Getting Started

Insert battery and connect test leads.

  1. Open battery compartment on back, insert 9V battery.
  2. Connect black test lead to COM jack.
  3. Connect red test lead to VΩmA jack for most measurements.
  4. For current measurements above 200mA, move red lead to 10A jack.
  5. Turn rotary switch to desired function.

Tip: Always start with highest range if unknown value, then switch to lower range for better accuracy.

Measurement Procedures

Step-by-step instructions for common measurements.

  1. DC Voltage: Set to V⎓, connect leads in parallel to circuit.
  2. AC Voltage: Set to V~, connect leads in parallel.
  3. DC Current: Set to A⎓, connect leads in series with circuit.
  4. Resistance: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is powered off.
  5. Continuity: Set to •))) symbol, test for audible tone.
  6. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol, connect to diode.
  7. Transistor hFE: Set to hFE, insert transistor in correct socket.

WARNING! Never connect meter to powered circuit when set to current or resistance mode.

Special Functions

Data Hold: Press HOLD button to freeze reading. Auto Power-Off: Meter turns off after 15 minutes; press any button to wake. Low Battery Indicator: "BAT" appears when battery needs replacement.

Battery Replacement

Replace 9V battery when low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace old battery with new 9V battery.
  4. Replace cover and secure screw.

CAUTION! Dispose of old battery properly according to local regulations.

Care & Maintenance

Clean meter with dry cloth only. Store in carrying case when not in use.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight.
