Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow may cause injury or damage.

  1. Use only with lead-acid batteries. Do not use with lithium-ion or dry cell batteries.
  2. Ensure area is well-ventilated. Batteries produce explosive gases.
  3. Wear protective eyewear and gloves when handling batteries.
  4. Connect to battery before plugging into AC outlet.
  5. Do not disassemble charger. No user-serviceable parts inside.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock and battery explosion. Keep away from children. Do not expose to water or rain.

Installation & Connection

Proper connection ensures safe and effective charging.

  1. Identify battery voltage (6V or 12V). Charger will detect automatically.
  2. Connect clamps: RED to positive (+) terminal, BLACK to negative (-) terminal.
  3. Ensure connections are secure and metal-to-metal contact.
  4. Plug AC power cord into 120V, 60Hz outlet.
  5. LED will illuminate indicating charging status.

CAUTION! Reverse connection may activate protection mode and prevent charging. Double-check polarity before connecting.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Charger features simple LED status indication system.

LED Status Guide:

Automatic Operation: Charger automatically switches from charging to float mode when battery reaches full charge. No manual adjustment needed.

Charging Procedure

Follow these steps for proper charging cycle.

  1. Ensure battery is in well-ventilated area.
  2. Clean battery terminals if corroded.
  3. Connect red clamp to positive (+), black clamp to negative (-).
  4. Plug charger into AC outlet. Red LED should illuminate.
  5. Charger will automatically detect voltage and begin charging.
  6. When battery is fully charged, LED will turn green.
  7. For long-term maintenance, leave connected in green (float) mode.
  8. To disconnect: Unplug from AC outlet first, then remove clamps from battery.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charging may take 24 hours or more. Monitor periodically.

Float Mode Operation

Float mode maintains battery at optimal charge level indefinitely.

  1. Once battery reaches full charge, charger switches to float mode automatically.
  2. Green LED indicates float mode is active.
  3. Charger provides maintenance charge to compensate for self-discharge.
  4. Safe for continuous connection without overcharging.
  5. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, backup systems, and storage applications.

Note: While float mode is safe for extended periods, periodically check battery condition and connections.

Maintenance & Storage

Proper care ensures long charger life.

CAUTION! Do not attempt to repair damaged charger. Contact manufacturer for service.
