Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, install correct batteries as indicated.
  2. Connect test leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into V/Ω jack.
  3. Power on: Turn function dial to OFF, then to desired measurement function.
  4. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together to verify continuity buzzer sounds.

WARNING! Do not use if meter or leads are damaged. Ensure proper function selection before connecting to circuits.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Access functions via rotary dial and buttons. Front Panel: Function dial, LCD display, HOLD button, Power button.

Function Dial Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DC Voltage), V~ (AC Voltage), A~ (AC Current via clamp), Ω (Resistance), ))) (Continuity), diode symbol (Diode Test).

Measurement: Select function, connect leads or clamp, read display. Data Hold: Press HOLD to freeze reading; press again to release. Auto Power Off: Meter turns off after approx. 15 minutes of inactivity (if equipped).

Measurement Procedures

AC Current (Clamp): Set dial to A~, open clamp jaws, place around single conductor, close jaws, read value. Voltage: Set to V⎓ or V~, connect leads in parallel to circuit. Resistance/Continuity: Disconnect power, set to Ω or ))), connect across component.

  1. Turn off power to circuit before measuring resistance or continuity.
  2. For current, clamp around only one conductor at a time.
  3. Ensure jaws are fully closed for accurate current readings.
  4. Use Data Hold to record stable readings.

Tip: Start with highest range if unknown value; auto-ranging will adjust.

Safety Precautions

Designed for CAT II 600V environments. Do not exceed rated voltage/current.

  1. Inspect meter and leads before each use.
  2. Do not use if damaged or if abnormal operation is observed.
  3. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with live circuits.
  4. Keep fingers behind barrier on test probes.
  5. Disconnect test leads before changing function.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not measure current on conductors exceeding 400A AC. Do not use in wet conditions.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry cloth only; no solvents. Store in dry place.

CAUTION! Remove batteries if not used for extended periods. Use only specified battery type.
