Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This is a CAT II 600V rated meter.

  1. Do not use if meter or leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltages exceeding 600V DC/AC.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  5. Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on energized circuits above 600V. Ensure proper fuse rating when measuring current.

Parts Identification

Front Panel Overview:

  1. LCD Display: Shows measurement value, function symbols, and warnings.
  2. Selector Knob: Rotate to choose function and range (OFF, VDC, VAC, Ω, etc.).
  3. Input Jacks: COM (common/black lead), VΩmA (red lead for voltage/resistance/small current), 10A (red lead for high current up to 10A).
  4. Function Buttons: HOLD (data hold), RANGE (manual range selection on some models).
  5. Battery Compartment: Holds 9V battery (type 6F22 or NEDA 1604).

CAUTION! Always insert test leads into correct jacks for the measurement being performed.

Specifications

Measurement Procedures

General Steps: Set function/range, insert leads, connect to circuit, read display.

Voltage (DC/AC): Set knob to VDC or VAC range. Connect black lead to COM, red to VΩmA. Touch probes to circuit. For unknown voltage, start at highest range.

Current (DC/AC): Power OFF circuit. Break circuit. For <200mA, set to mA range, red lead in VΩmA. For up to 10A, set to 10A, red lead in 10A jack. Connect meter in series. Power ON circuit.

Resistance/Continuity: Set to Ω or continuity symbol. Ensure circuit is de-energized. Connect leads across component. For continuity, buzzer sounds for low resistance.

Diode Test: Set to diode symbol. Connect red lead to anode, black to cathode. Forward voltage drop (0.5V-0.8V for silicon) displayed.

Battery Replacement

Replace 9V battery when low battery icon appears.

  1. Turn selector knob to OFF. Disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw(s) from battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove old battery, noting polarity.
  4. Insert new 9V battery (6F22 type).
  5. Replace cover and secure screw(s).
  6. Dispose of old battery properly.

Tip: Always use a fresh battery to ensure accuracy.

Maintenance & Care

Keep meter clean and dry. Store in protective case.

  1. Clean case with a damp cloth; do not use solvents.
  2. Inspect test leads for damage before each use.
  3. Calibrate annually for critical measurements.
  4. Remove battery if storing for extended periods.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or dust.

Accessories

Standard package includes:

Optional accessories: Carrying case, alligator clip adapters, temperature probe (if compatible).
