Safety Information

Read all safety information before use. Use proper personal protective equipment.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use correct input jacks and function setting for measurement.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  5. Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on electrically live circuits unless trained. Ensure meter is set to correct function before connecting.

Getting Started

Insert battery and connect test leads for first use.

  1. Insert 9V battery: Open battery compartment, connect battery, replace cover.
  2. Connect test leads: Black lead to COM jack; red lead to VΩmA jack for most measurements.
  3. Turn meter on: Rotate function switch to desired measurement function.
  4. Test operation: Set to resistance, touch probe tips together; display should read near 0Ω.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when not in use. Store in dry location.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Rotary function switch, LCD display, Data Hold button, Power switch.

Display Symbols: AC, DC, Auto, Hold, Low Battery, Overload (OL).

Function Switch Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DC Voltage), V~ (AC Voltage), A⎓ (DC Current), Ω (Resistance), ))) (Continuity), ➡)⎓ (Diode Test).

Input Jacks: COM (common, black lead), VΩmA (red lead for voltage, resistance, current up to 200mA), 10ADC (red lead for current 200mA to 10A).

Measurement Procedures

Always start with highest range if unknown value. Ensure correct lead placement.

  1. Voltage Measurement: Set to V⎓ or V~; connect leads in parallel to circuit; read display.
  2. Current Measurement: Set to A⎓; connect leads in series with circuit; use 10A jack for >200mA.
  3. Resistance Measurement: Set to Ω; ensure circuit is de-energized; connect across component.
  4. Data Hold: Press HOLD button to freeze reading; press again to resume.

Tip: For accurate readings, keep test leads away from other conductors and noise sources.

Diode & Continuity Test

Use to test diodes and check for circuit continuity.

  1. Diode Test: Set to ➡)⎓; connect red lead to anode, black to cathode; typical forward voltage 0.5V-0.8V.
  2. Continuity Test: Set to ))); connect leads across circuit; buzzer sounds if resistance <70Ω.
  3. Open/Short Test: OL indicates open circuit; 0Ω (with buzzer) indicates short.

WARNING! Ensure circuit is de-energized and capacitors discharged before testing.

Maintenance & Care

Clean with dry cloth only. Store in protective case when not in use.

Battery Replacement: When low battery symbol appears, turn meter off, open compartment, replace 9V battery.

Fuse Replacement: If current measurements fail, replace 200mA/250V fast-blow fuse (located behind battery).

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or water. Use only specified fuse type.
