Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. Always follow proper electrical safety procedures.

  1. Do not exceed maximum input limits shown on meter.
  2. Use proper personal protective equipment when working with electricity.
  3. Do not use meter if damaged or with cracked case.
  4. Disconnect power and discharge capacitors before measuring resistance.
  5. Keep fingers behind probe barriers during measurements.

WARNING! Electric shock hazard. Do not use on circuits exceeding 600V AC/DC. Use extreme caution when working with high voltage.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect contents. Install battery before first use.

  1. Install battery: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery, close compartment.
  2. Connect test leads: Black lead to COM jack, red lead to VΩmA jack.
  3. Turn meter on: Rotate function selector to desired measurement type.
  4. Test meter: Measure known voltage source to verify operation.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is set to correct function before connecting to circuit. Incorrect settings can damage meter or cause injury.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Function selector dial, Display, HOLD button, Power switch, Input jacks.

Display Symbols: AC/DC indicators, Low battery, Data hold, Overload, Decimal points, Measurement units (V, A, Ω).

Function Selector Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DC voltage), V~ (AC voltage), A⎓ (DC current), Ω (resistance), •))) (continuity/diode test). Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/small current), 10A (high current).

Measurement Procedures

Always start with meter set to highest range when unknown value.

  1. Voltage Measurement: Set to V⎓ or V~, connect leads in parallel with circuit.
  2. Current Measurement: Set to A⎓, connect leads in series with circuit, use 10A jack for >200mA.
  3. Resistance Measurement: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  4. Continuity Test: Set to •))), buzzer sounds for resistance <50Ω.
  5. Diode Test: Set to •))), red lead to anode, black to cathode, typical reading 0.5-0.8V.
  6. Data Hold: Press HOLD to freeze display reading.

Tip: For accurate readings, keep test leads away from other conductors and noise sources.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove old 9V battery and dispose properly.
  4. Insert new 9V battery, observing polarity.
  5. Replace cover and secure screw.

WARNING! Do not operate meter with low battery as readings may be inaccurate. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.

Care & Maintenance

Clean meter with dry cloth only. Store in carrying case when not in use.

  1. Keep meter dry and free from dust.
  2. Do not expose to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  3. Inspect test leads regularly for damage.
  4. Calibrate annually for critical measurements.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or abrasives. Never immerse meter in liquids.
