Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This is a CAT II 600V rated meter.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V DC or AC RMS.
  3. When measuring current, always connect in series with load and start with highest range.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function or range.
  5. Use proper personal protective equipment when working with hazardous voltages.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on circuits exceeding 600V. Do not use if meter operates abnormally.

Parts Identification

Front Panel Layout:

  1. LCD Display: Shows measurement value, function symbols, and battery status.
  2. Rotary Function Switch: Selects measurement function and range.
  3. Input Jacks: Three 4mm safety sockets (COM, VΩmA, 10ADC).
  4. Data Hold Button: Press to freeze display reading.
  5. Power Button: Turns meter ON/OFF (on some models).

CAUTION! Always insert test leads into correct jacks for measurement type to prevent damage.

Specifications

Getting Started

Initial setup and basic operation.

  1. Install battery: Remove battery cover, insert 9V battery, replace cover.
  2. Connect test leads: Black lead to COM jack, red lead to VΩmA jack (for most measurements).
  3. Turn meter ON: Rotate function switch to desired measurement function.
  4. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together; buzzer should sound.
  5. Test voltage: Measure known voltage source to verify operation.

Tip: Always start with highest range when measuring unknown values.

Making Measurements

Detailed measurement procedures for each function.

  1. DC Voltage: Set switch to V⎓, connect red lead to VΩmA, black to COM, touch probes to circuit.
  2. AC Voltage: Set switch to V~, connect as above, measure AC circuits.
  3. DC Current: Set switch to A⎓ range, connect red lead to VΩmA (for <200mA) or 10ADC (for <10A), break circuit and connect meter in series.
  4. Resistance: Set switch to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect probes across component.
  5. Diode Test: Set switch to diode symbol, connect red lead to anode, black to cathode; typical forward voltage 0.5-0.8V.
  6. Continuity: Set switch to buzzer symbol, connect probes across circuit; buzzer sounds for resistance <70Ω.

WARNING! Never connect meter to powered circuit when set to resistance, diode, or continuity functions.

Data Hold & Auto Power Off

Data Hold: Press HOLD button to freeze display reading; "H" appears. Press again to resume.
Auto Power Off: Meter turns off after approx. 15 minutes of inactivity. Turn function switch to OFF then back to ON to restart.

Battery Replacement

When "BAT" appears on display, replace battery immediately.

  1. Turn meter OFF and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove battery cover screw and cover.
  3. Remove old 9V battery and disconnect snap connector.
  4. Connect new 9V battery and place in compartment.
  5. Replace cover and tighten screw.

CAUTION! Use only recommended battery type. Dispose of old battery properly.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry cloth only. Store in dry place. Do not expose to extreme temperatures or moisture.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or abrasives. Keep away from strong magnetic fields.
