Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This meter is designed for indoor use.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Do not use in wet or damp environments.
  5. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  6. Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not touch exposed metal parts during measurement. Ensure all connections are secure.

First-Time Setup

Prepare meter for first use.

  1. Insert battery: Open battery compartment, install 9V battery.
  2. Connect test leads: Black lead to COM jack, red lead to VΩmA jack.
  3. Turn rotary switch to desired function (e.g., V~ for AC voltage).
  4. Power on: Press POWER button; LCD should display.
  5. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together; beep confirms meter operation.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when connecting test leads. Verify battery polarity.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Rotary switch, LCD display, POWER button, HOLD button, input jacks (COM, VΩmA, 10ADC).

Display Symbols: AC, DC, Auto, OL (overload), Low Battery, Data Hold, units (V, A, Ω, etc.).

Rotary Switch Positions: OFF, V~ (AC voltage), V⎓ (DC voltage), A⎓ (DC current), Ω (resistance), ))) (continuity), diode symbol, hFE.

Buttons: POWER (on/off), HOLD (freezes display reading).

Measurement Procedures

General steps: Select function, connect leads, read display.

  1. AC Voltage: Set to V~, connect leads in parallel to circuit, read value.
  2. DC Voltage: Set to V⎓, connect red to positive, black to negative.
  3. DC Current: Set to A⎓, break circuit, connect meter in series.
  4. Resistance: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  5. Continuity: Set to ))) , connect across circuit; beep indicates continuity.
  6. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol, red lead to anode, black to cathode; forward voltage drop displayed.
  7. Transistor hFE: Set to hFE, insert transistor into socket (NPN/PNP).

Tip: Start with highest range if unknown value. Use HOLD button to record readings.

Battery Replacement

Replace 9V battery when low battery symbol appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace old battery with new 9V battery (observe polarity).
  4. Replace cover and screw.
  5. Dispose of old battery properly.

WARNING! Do not operate meter with low battery. Remove battery if not used for extended periods.

Care & Maintenance

Keep meter clean and dry. Store in carrying case when not in use.

  1. Clean with dry cloth; do not use solvents or water.
  2. Inspect test leads for damage before each use.
  3. Calibrate periodically for accurate measurements.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures or moisture. Avoid dropping or impact.
