Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Insert battery: Open battery compartment, install 9V battery observing polarity.
  2. Connect test leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA jack.
  3. Function selection: Rotate selector dial to desired measurement function.
  4. Power on: Press POWER button to activate meter.

WARNING! Do not use meter if damaged or with cracked casing. Ensure proper battery installation.

First-Time Setup

Power on meter; verify display functions.

  1. Test battery: Check for low battery indicator; replace if needed.
  2. Test continuity: Touch probe tips together; buzzer should sound.
  3. Set auto-ranging: Dial to appropriate function; meter auto-selects range.
  4. Enable backlight: Press backlight button for low-light conditions.

CAUTION! Always start with highest range if using manual ranging. Verify meter is set to correct function before measuring.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access functions via selector dial and front panel buttons. Front Panel: POWER, HOLD, BACKLIGHT.

Selector Dial Positions: OFF, ACV, DCV, ACA, DCA, Ω, Continuity.

Measurement: Auto-ranging (default), manual ranging available. Display: Backlight on/off, data hold, low battery indicator. Safety: Overload protection, double insulation, CAT II 600V rating.

Connecting Probes

Standard: Black lead to COM, red lead to VΩmA. Current only: Use clamp jaw without leads.

  1. Turn selector dial to OFF before connecting probes.
  2. Match leads to jacks (black to COM, red to VΩmA for voltage/resistance).
  3. For current >10A, use dedicated 10A jack if available.

Tip: Ensure test leads are in good condition with no exposed wire.

Taking Measurements

Supports AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, continuity.

  1. AC/DC Voltage: Connect leads in parallel to circuit; read display.
  2. AC/DC Current: Clamp jaw around single conductor; ensure jaw fully closed.
  3. Resistance: Disconnect power from circuit; connect leads across component.
  4. Continuity: Disconnect power; touch probes to circuit; listen for buzzer.
  5. Data Hold: Press HOLD to freeze reading.
  6. Backlight: Press BACKLIGHT for 10 seconds of illumination.
  7. Auto Power Off: Meter turns off after 15 minutes idle.

WARNING! Do not measure voltage above 600V. Never clamp around multiple conductors. Disconnect power before resistance/continuity tests.

Safety Features

Overload Protection: Prevents damage from excessive input. Double Insulation: Protection against electric shock. CAT II Rating: Suitable for measurements on mains circuits up to 600V.

Care & Cleaning

Remove battery before cleaning. Use dry cloth only; no liquids or solvents.

CAUTION! Do not submerge meter. Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
