Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. Failure to follow may result in injury or damage.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing function.
  5. Replace battery and fuse with identical type and rating.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on electrically live circuits unless trained. Ensure hands, shoes, and work area are dry.

Parts Identification

Front panel layout and controls.

  1. LCD Display: Shows measurement values, symbols, and units.
  2. Rotary Switch: Selects measurement function and range.
  3. COM Jack: Common (black) test lead input for all measurements.
  4. VΩmA Jack: Red test lead input for voltage, resistance, and current up to 200mA.
  5. 10ADC Jack: Red test lead input for DC current up to 10A.
  6. Data Hold Button (HOLD): Press to freeze display reading.
  7. Power Button (POWER): Turns meter on/off.

CAUTION! Always insert test leads into correct jacks for measurement type to prevent damage.

Measurement Procedures

Turn rotary switch to desired function. Connect test leads to proper jacks.

Measuring DC Voltage: Set switch to DCV range. Connect black lead to COM, red to VΩmA. Touch probes to circuit. If polarity reversed, "-" displays.

Measuring AC Voltage: Set switch to ACV 600V or 200V. Connect leads as above. Touch probes to circuit.

Measuring Resistance: Set switch to Ω. Ensure circuit is de-energized. Connect leads across component.

Continuity Test: Set switch to continuity symbol. Connect leads across circuit. Buzzer sounds if resistance < 50Ω.

Diode Test: Set switch to diode symbol. Connect red lead to anode, black to cathode. Forward voltage drop displays (0.5V-0.8V for silicon).

Measuring DC Current: For <200mA: set switch to DCA, red lead in VΩmA jack. For up to 10A: set to 10A, red lead in 10ADC jack. Connect meter in series with circuit.

Data Hold: Press HOLD to freeze reading. Press again to resume.

Battery Replacement

Replace 9V battery when low battery symbol appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace old battery with new 9V battery (type 6F22).
  4. Replace cover and screw.
  5. Properly dispose of old battery.

WARNING! Do not operate with battery cover removed. Replace fuse only with identical type: 200mA/250V fast blow for mA range; 10A/250V for 10A range.

Maintenance & Care

Keep meter clean and dry. Store in carrying case when not in use.

  1. Clean with soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water.
  2. Inspect test leads for damage before each use.
  3. Calibrate annually for accurate measurements.
  4. Remove battery if storing for extended periods.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight.
