Getting Started

Power on Scanner; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Vehicle Preparation: Ensure vehicle is in Park/Neutral with parking brake engaged. Turn ignition to ON position (engine may be off or running as specified).
  2. Connect Scanner: Locate OBD2 port (usually under dashboard near steering column). Plug cable into port, then connect to scanner.
  3. Power Scanner: Unit powers automatically from vehicle. Screen will illuminate.
  4. Select Language: Use arrow buttons to navigate, ENTER to select (default: ENGLISH).
  5. Read Codes: Press READ button to begin diagnostic scan.

CAUTION! Do not disconnect scanner while diagnostic tests are in progress.

Scanner Controls & Display

Access menus via button controls. Front Panel: READ/ERASE, UP, DOWN, ENTER, EXIT.

Connecting to Vehicle

OBD2 Port: Standard 16-pin female connector under dashboard.

  1. Turn ignition OFF before connecting.
  2. Locate OBD2 port (consult vehicle manual if needed).
  3. Firmly plug scanner cable into port until it clicks.
  4. Turn ignition to ON (engine may be off for code reading).
  5. Scanner will power on and attempt to communicate with vehicle ECU.

Tip: If communication fails, ensure ignition is ON and check for loose connection.

Reading & Clearing Codes

Supports reading and clearing of generic and manufacturer-specific DTCs.

  1. Read Codes: From main menu, select "Read Codes" or press READ button. Scanner will communicate with ECU and display any found DTCs (e.g., P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected).
  2. View Code Details: Use UP/DOWN to scroll through codes. Press ENTER to view code definition, possible causes, and troubleshooting tips.
  3. Erase Codes: From main menu, select "Erase Codes" or press ERASE button. Confirm when prompted. Note: Clearing codes will reset I/M readiness monitors.
  4. Verify Erasure: Re-scan to confirm codes are cleared and MIL is off.

WARNING! Do not clear codes before diagnosing the problem. Record codes for reference.

Viewing Live Data

Monitor real-time vehicle parameters.

  1. Select Live Data: From main menu, choose "View Live Data".
  2. Select Parameters: Choose up to 4 parameters to monitor simultaneously (common: Engine RPM, Vehicle Speed, Coolant Temp, MAF Sensor).
  3. View Data: Values update every 1-2 seconds. Use UP/DOWN to scroll through additional parameters.
  4. Exit: Press EXIT to return to main menu.

Note: Available parameters vary by vehicle make/model/year.

Care & Maintenance

Keep scanner clean and dry. Store in included case when not in use.

Cleaning: Use dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

CAUTION! Do not disassemble scanner. No user-serviceable parts inside.
