Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use. This multimeter is designed for indoor use.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads appear damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltages above 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Do not operate with cover removed or batteries exposed.
  5. Disconnect test leads from circuit before changing functions.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not use on circuits exceeding 600V. Use caution when working with high voltage.

Getting Started

Insert battery and connect test leads properly before use.

  1. Battery Installation: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery, replace cover.
  2. Test Lead Connection: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA or 10A jack as needed.
  3. Power On: Turn function selector to desired measurement function.
  4. Auto Power Off: Meter turns off after 15 minutes; turn selector to OFF then back to ON to restart.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is turned off when not in use. Always start with highest range if unknown value.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Function Selector: Rotate to choose measurement function. Display Symbols: AC, DC, Auto, Hold, Low Battery, Overload.

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage, resistance, current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A).

Buttons: HOLD (freezes display), SELECT (alternates between functions), RANGE (manual range selection), REL (relative measurement). Display: Shows measured value, units, function symbols, and status indicators.

Measurement Procedures

Always turn off power to circuit before connecting meter when measuring resistance, continuity, or diodes.

  1. Voltage Measurement: Select V~ (AC) or V⎓ (DC), connect leads in parallel with circuit.
  2. Current Measurement: Select A~ or A⎓, break circuit and connect in series.
  3. Resistance Measurement: Select Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  4. Continuity Test: Select Ω, audible beep indicates continuity (less than 30Ω).
  5. Diode Test: Select diode symbol, forward voltage shows 0.5V to 0.8V for silicon diodes.
  6. Capacitance: Select F, discharge capacitor first, connect directly to terminals.
  7. Frequency: Select Hz, connect leads across signal source.
  8. Temperature: Select °C/°F, connect K-type thermocouple to input jacks.

Tip: For unknown values, start at highest range and work down for best accuracy.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove old 9V battery and dispose properly.
  4. Insert new 9V battery, observing polarity.
  5. Replace cover and secure screw.

WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries. Use only recommended battery type.

Care & Maintenance

Keep meter clean and dry. Store in protective case when not in use.

Cleaning: Use soft cloth slightly dampened with water. Do not use solvents or abrasives.

Storage: Store in dry place, remove battery if not used for extended period.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight.
