Safety Information

Read all safety information before use to prevent injury or damage.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads appear damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltage above 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Do not use in wet or damp environments.
  5. Replace battery with correct type (9V).

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Use caution when working with high voltage. Ensure test leads are properly connected before applying power.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect all components. Install battery before first use.

  1. Install Battery: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery, close compartment.
  2. Connect Test Leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA jack.
  3. Turn On: Rotate function selector to desired measurement function.
  4. Test Operation: Set to resistance, touch probe tips together; display should read near 0Ω.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when connecting test leads. Verify battery polarity when installing.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Function Selector: Rotate to choose measurement function. Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A). Buttons: POWER (on/off), HOLD (data hold), SELECT (function toggle).

Display Symbols: AC, DC, V, A, Ω, HOLD, LOW BAT, OL (overload).

Measurement Selection: Rotate selector to desired range. Auto-ranging on some models. Use SELECT button to toggle between AC/DC on voltage functions.

Measurement Procedures

Always turn off power to circuit before connecting meter in current or resistance modes.

  1. Voltage Measurement: Set to V~ (AC) or V⎓ (DC), connect leads in parallel to circuit.
  2. Current Measurement: Set to A⎓, connect leads in series with circuit, use 10A jack for >200mA.
  3. Resistance Measurement: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect leads across component.
  4. Continuity Test: Set to Ω or continuity symbol, buzzer sounds if resistance < 30Ω.
  5. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol, red lead to anode, black to cathode; typical forward voltage 0.5-0.8V.

Tip: Start with highest range if unknown value. Ensure proper lead placement to avoid damage.

Data Hold & Auto Power Off

Data Hold: Press HOLD button to freeze display reading; press again to release. Auto Power Off: Meter turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity; press any button to wake.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when LOW BAT indicator appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Open battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove old battery, insert new 9V battery.
  4. Close cover securely.

CAUTION! Use only 9V battery. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry cloth only. Store in carrying case when not in use. Do not expose to extreme temperatures or moisture.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or water for cleaning. Keep away from magnetic fields.
