Safety Precautions

Read all safety information before use to prevent injury or damage.

  1. Do not exceed rated voltage or current limits (see specifications).
  2. Use proper test leads and ensure they are in good condition.
  3. Disconnect power and discharge capacitors before measuring resistance or continuity.
  4. Use caution when measuring live circuits; wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  5. Replace fuses only with identical type and rating.

WARNING! High voltage can cause serious injury or death. Use extreme caution when measuring AC mains or automotive ignition systems.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect contents. Install battery before first use.

  1. Install battery: Open battery compartment, insert 9V battery, close securely.
  2. Connect test leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA jack (for most measurements).
  3. Power on: Press POWER button; LCD should illuminate.
  4. Select function: Turn dial to desired measurement mode.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off and test leads are disconnected when changing batteries or fuses.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Function selector dial, POWER button, DATA HOLD button, LCD display, input jacks.

Display Symbols: AC, DC, Auto, OL (overload), Low Battery, Hold, Ω, V, A, mA, µA.

Function Dial Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DC voltage), V~ (AC voltage), A⎓ (DC current), Ω (resistance), ))) (continuity), diode symbol.

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A).

Measurement Procedures

Always start with meter off and leads disconnected. Select proper function and range.

  1. DC Voltage: Set dial to V⎓, connect leads in parallel with circuit, read display.
  2. AC Voltage: Set dial to V~, connect leads in parallel, read display.
  3. DC Current: Set dial to A⎓, connect leads in series with circuit, use 10A jack for >200mA.
  4. Resistance: Set dial to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect leads across component.
  5. Continuity: Set dial to ))) , connect leads; buzzer sounds if resistance < 50Ω.
  6. Diode Test: Set dial to diode symbol, connect red lead to anode, black to cathode.

Tip: Use DATA HOLD to freeze readings in hard-to-see locations.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery symbol appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove holster (if attached).
  3. Open battery compartment cover.
  4. Remove old 9V battery and insert new one.
  5. Replace cover and holster.

WARNING! Do not operate meter with low battery as readings may be inaccurate.

Care & Maintenance

Keep meter clean and dry. Store in protective case when not in use.

  1. Clean with dry cloth only; do not use solvents or water.
  2. Inspect test leads regularly for damage; replace if cracked or worn.
  3. Calibrate annually for accurate measurements (refer to service center).

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Accessories

Included: Test leads (pair), 9V battery, protective holster, user manual.

Optional: Alligator clips, temperature probe, carrying case, extra fuses.
