Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert two AAA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Close battery compartment securely.
  3. Remove protective film from LCD display if present.
  4. Power on device by pressing Power button.

WARNING! Use only recommended battery type. Do not mix old and new batteries.

First-Time Setup

Power on thermometer; configure initial settings.

  1. Select temperature unit: Press and hold Mode button for 3 seconds to toggle between °C and °F.
  2. Set emissivity: For accurate surface readings, adjust emissivity setting (default 0.95 for most surfaces).
  3. Choose measurement mode: Press Mode button to select Body or Surface temperature mode.

Measurement Procedures

For accurate readings, follow proper measurement techniques.

  1. Ensure thermometer and target are in stable environment for 30 minutes.
  2. Select appropriate mode (Body or Surface).
  3. Hold thermometer perpendicular to measurement surface.
  4. Maintain proper distance (refer to distance-to-spot ratio).
  5. Press and hold Power/Measure button.
  6. Aim at center of target area.
  7. Release button when measurement is complete.
  8. Read temperature on display.
  9. Use Data Hold button to freeze reading if needed.

Tip: For body temperature, measure forehead from 1-3 inches away in a clean, dry area.

Maintenance & Calibration

Regular maintenance ensures accuracy.

  1. Check calibration monthly against known reference.
  2. Clean lens regularly with soft, dry cloth.
  3. Replace batteries when low battery indicator appears.
  4. Store in protective case when not in use.
  5. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.

Care & Cleaning
