Installation & Setup

Measurement Procedure

  3. Hold thermometer perpendicular to measurement surface, 1-3 inches away.
  4. Press and hold Measurement button until beep sounds (approx. 1 second).
  5. Read temperature on display. Use Data Hold button to freeze reading if needed.
  6. For body temperature: Measure forehead, avoid hair, sweat, or makeup.

Tip: Take multiple measurements and use the average for best accuracy.

Calibration & Settings

Calibrate periodically for maintained accuracy.

  1. Enter calibration mode: Press and hold Mode and Measurement buttons together for 5 seconds.
  2. Use known reference: Point at calibrated blackbody source or ice water mixture (0°C/32°F).
  3. Adjust calibration: Use Mode button to increase/decrease reading to match reference.
  4. Save calibration: Press Measurement button to save and exit.
  5. Emissivity settings: For surface mode, set emissivity: 0.95 for human skin, 0.85-0.95 for organic materials, 0.1-0.3 for polished metals.

WARNING! Calibrate only with proper reference sources. Incorrect calibration voids warranty.

Maintenance & Storage

Clean lens with soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive materials.

  1. Remove batteries if not using for extended period.
  2. Store in protective case provided.
  3. Keep in dry environment, avoid extreme temperatures.
