Jump-Starting Procedure
Follow these steps carefully to jump-start a vehicle.
- Prepare: Ensure jump starter is off. Park vehicles in neutral/park with ignitions off.
- Connect to Dead Battery:
- Attach RED clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery.
- Attach BLACK clamp to a clean, unpainted metal part of the engine block or chassis (a solid ground away from the battery).
